Terms of Sale and Use

What a Pro license gives you, how buying, renewal, refunds and cancelling work, and what happens when a license ends.

1. Who we are

Magic Product Video for WooCommerce is made by Andrii Gorkovenko (“we”). Postal address: Siemensstrasse 11, 74706 Osterburken, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Contact: support@mpvw.org. We are not registered for VAT; Stripe, as the merchant of record, collects and pays the VAT on sales to you.

These terms cover the free plugin, Pro licenses bought on mpvw.org, your account on mpvw.org and our support.

2. The free plugin

The free plugin is published on WordPress.org under the GNU General Public License v3. It costs nothing, needs no account and sends no data to us.

3. What a Pro license gives you

A Pro license is a yearly license for 1 site, 3 sites or unlimited sites, depending on the plan. While it is active it gives you:

  • the Pro plugin download in your account, and Pro updates on the WordPress Updates screen;
  • the Pro features on the sites where you activate the key;
  • email support.

The Pro plugin's code is also licensed under the GPL v3. The license key is what gives access to downloads, updates and support, and switches the Pro features on through mpvw.org. A site counts toward the limit while the key is active on it; development sites such as localhost do not count. You can move the license by deactivating it on one site and activating it on another, or by removing the site in your account.

Please keep the key to yourself. Publishing or sharing it so others can use Pro is a reason to revoke it (section 8).

4. Buying

Pro is sold through Stripe, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record: your purchase contract for the payment is with Stripe, which takes the payment, issues the invoice and charges VAT or sales tax where it applies. Your card statement and invoice may show Stripe's brand Link. You need an account on mpvw.org to buy, so the license and its downloads can be delivered to you.

Prices are shown on the pricing page in euros and include VAT where it applies. The license key appears in your account and comes by email right after the payment.

5. Yearly renewal and cancelling

A license runs for one year and renews automatically at the price of its plan, charged to the same card on the renewal date shown in your account. You can cancel the renewal at any time in your account (Cancel subscription or Manage billing); the license then runs to the end of the year you paid for and does not renew.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and the license stays active meanwhile; we email you so you can update the card. If every try fails, the subscription ends and the license is revoked.

6. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

We give a full refund within 30 days of any payment, renewals included, with no questions asked. How it works is on the refund page.

If you buy as a consumer in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content. Because the license is delivered right after payment, you agree at checkout that it starts at once and that you lose that right from then on. The 30-day money-back guarantee above still applies, and is longer.

7. When a license ends

When a license expires (you cancelled the renewal, or it was not renewed), every Pro feature keeps working on the sites where it is active. New versions, updates and support stop, and the key cannot be activated on a new site until you renew.

8. When we revoke a license

A revoked license switches the Pro features off on its sites at their next license check; the free features, your videos and settings stay. We revoke a license when:

  • its payment is refunded (a refunded renewal only ends it, as in section 7);
  • its payment is disputed with your bank (chargeback);
  • a renewal payment fails after all retries;
  • the key is published or shared, or the site limit is worked around.

If you think a license was revoked by mistake, write to us and we will look into it.

9. Support

With an active license you get email support at support@mpvw.org for installing, configuring and using the plugin. We answer as soon as we can, usually within two working days. Support does not include custom development or fixing problems caused by other plugins or themes, though we tell you what we find.

10. Your account

Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You can change your details or delete the account in the account settings. What we store and why is in the privacy policy.

11. Warranty and liability

We test the plugin with current versions of WordPress and WooCommerce, but software can have errors and every store is different. Make a backup before you install or update any plugin. To the extent the law allows, the plugin is provided as it is, and our liability for indirect damage and lost profits is excluded.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law, or the rights consumers have under mandatory law.

12. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply to purchases and renewals after the date of the change; if a change matters for your next renewal, we tell you by email before it.

These terms are governed by the law of Germany. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live still applies.
